April Mixtape

hacemos lo que nos gusta.

We do what we like. This was printed in hot pink ink on the back of a custom tee-shirt that we mailed out as an invitation to The MIHO Event. Extra? Maybe, but the words are true. We’re in the business of planning parties, which we absolutely love doing. But we plan a lot of parties for other people. Every now and then, we want to do one for us, just the way we like.

Music is one of our main sources of inspiration. It’s why we curate these playlists on a monthly basis. If you’ve been to our headquarters, you’ve seen our vinyl record (and Sonos) collection. For The MIHO Event, we were really inspired by this style of music that has emerged out the pandemic that feels like a mix of a homemade music video, garage jam session and Tiny Desk concert. Here are some jams that are on repeat in our headquarters:

What we love about this style of music is that it feels raw, emotional, and real. We see ourselves in the spoken word. The artists feel like our dear friends. We extracted some of these feelings and elements to create an experience at The MIHO Event. We asked all of our guests to share what they’ve been listening to. We also asked them to share their home videos of moments that capture an essence of life. For this month’s playlist, we’re sharing a curated version of that playlist. I hope you enjoy. I’m still finding surprises within this eclectic collection.
