December Mixtape - Holiday Edition

Navidad has always been one of my favorite holidays. What's not to like with yummy tamales, rich and thick tongue-coating pozole, and eggnog? Of both kinds of course. 😏 And you can't forget about the music! I didn't really start cataloging my favorite holiday songs until I was in my 20's while hosting dinner parties and throwing many NYE soirees. Thankfully, I had the wonderful help of technologies like Pandora and iTunes for those endless suggestions and callbacks to forgotten favorites. What I love about holiday songs is that there are so many renditions of the classics and you can stick to those, or funk it a bit with the likes of James Brown, beatboxing it with Pentatonix, classical string songs from the Home Alone soundtrack, chill it out as if you are lounging by the ACE PS pool with some Khruangbin, or go with ol' blue eyes, Frank! So, my inspo for this playlist was a bit of me (I like the old classics), but also to mix it up, have some fun, and push the envelope a bit with songs that make you think, wait... should they have covered that song?!
