Celebrating 70 with a Modern & Luxe Event Design at the Museum of Contemporary Art

Owner and lead planner of His & Hers Events Leida Ebrahimi turned this 70th birthday celebration into a night to remember. The soiree was hosted at the newly remodeled Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla, CA featuring a stunning backdrop of the Pacific Ocean. Leida brought in an elevated aesthetic with a simple luxe black, white and deep red color palette, and paired modern curves and arches to warm up an angular room. The design was inviting, stylish and elegant, resembling the guest of honor.

Pieces of art throughout cocktail hour hint at the collection the Museum has to offer.

Food was an important element to this birthday celebration. Leaning into the curiosity and exploration a museum evokes, MIHO culinary team featured the Wayfarer Menu, made up of multiple food stations placed throughout the room. Guests enjoyed tray-passed appetizers and small composed plates throughout the evening. We indulged in ice cream sandwiches and late night snacks of Belgium fries, wagyu sliders and a guest favorite of tequila infused fruit. Delicious!

Layered Vintage brought in classic roses, ferns and florals in ruby, scarlet, cherry and jammy reds.

Florals added a creative element of drama with the tablescape. Leida and Jill collaborated to use old black and white images of the guest of honor, which trailed into a beautiful cascade of florals.
