February Mixtape

My favorite way to spend a Saturday night is cooking dinner at my best friend’s house in Leucadia. She and her husband went on a fishing trip last August, so they have some delicious wild caught salmon that we’ve been enjoying throughout the year. Paired with a few bottles of natural wine, it’s always a fantastic meal. After we’ve cleaned up (and changed into cozy pants), we head out to “the man cave”, which has way too many surfboards, relics from their adventures and a ton of records. Her husband hits the turntables and plays records while we dance, hang and do what I like to call, “roll around.” Rolling around usually entails sprawling on the floor, playing with her pilates machine, airplaning, braiding each others hair, and snuggling the dogs on the couch. At this point in the evening, we’ve likely moved on to sparkling waters and Athletic beers. It’s just the coziest, most fun party scene I can dream up and the music is always so good. This playlist has some 1960-70’s psychedelic funk, upbeat folk, gritty beats, moody mellow tunes and funky psych-soul guitars. This is the kinda stuff we just love while we’re rolling around on the floor. I hope you enjoy!
