Details, Darling is a San Diego + Los Angeles based boutique style full service wedding planning and design company founded by sisters, Aubrey + Kenzie. We have grown our team and now plan alongside our lovely leads - Alessandra + Monica. 

If you could give a recently engaged couple one piece of advice, what would it be?

Talk about your top 3 priorities “won’t budge” aspects for the wedding and talk about 3 things you would be willing to compromise on if needed. 

Before anything else, what's the first thing a couple should do when it comes to planning a wedding?

Hire a planner, DUH! But on the real - it’s the best investment you will make for the day. You shouldn’t have to worry about all the tedious tasks during the process. Even as professional wedding planners ourselves, we hired another company when we got married to take the reins. 

What's the difference between design and planning/coordination?

With our design package, we are highly involved in the way that the day looks and all the pretty memorable details - from the tablescapes, to the chairs, to the florals. When we simply plan, we are helping you manage all of the logistics like layout, timeline, vendor communication, etc. 

When it comes to design, what inspires you most?

We love hearing our couple’s back stories of how they met, who they are, what makes them tick, etc. This is definitely where we draw the most inspiration from when it comes down to creating things like their seating chart display or their signage.

What should people think about when they're designing their wedding?

How do you want your guests to feel when they are at the wedding. Do you want them to feel like they are at a villa in Tuscany, dining in the middle of the desert, in your parents backyard or at a fancy restaurant. Think about the vibe you want to portray to your guests and run with that. 

How do you choose your vendors?

We look at the couple’s initial vision and their budget, of course. On our initial call, we go over every single vendor and what the couple would like to see, eat, drink, dance to, etc and then we recommend people based on those remarks. 

What are some resources that every couple should use to stay organized?

We love Aisle Planner! It’s a great organizational tool to keep track of guest list, budget, checklists, etc. 

What do you think your team does really well?

We love to incorporate who our couples are into the design of the day to make the wedding specifically unique to them! Anyone can plan a pretty wedding but we want your guests to walk away saying “Wow that was so THEM!” 

What's a great client fit for you?

Someone who is good at communicating and who trusts us that we will execute your day both logistical and design wise.
